This quaint and quiet corner, complete with a fully-matured elm tree, was once the site of the symmetrically elegant Dundas-Lippincott Mansion. And while this photograph, circa 1890, may suggest the tranquility of a suburban setting, you are in fact looking at the northeast corner of S. Broad and Walnut Sts. Yes, there was once a place for residential property on this corner – we were surprised too.

SMU expands Minneapolis campus with purchase of historic mansion

BBC News – Cosmeston pottery find shows a thriving medieval craft

A 13th Century pottery vessel found in the Vale of Glamorgan could indicate a thriving local craft in medieval times.

Several fragments of the aquamanile, decorated with a ram’s head, were discovered at the site of a manor house at Cosmeston, near Penarth.

The vessels were used by guests to wash their hands at the dinner table.

Successful open garden event at Manor House in Aslackby – Local – Bourne Local

ABOUT 150 people visited a garden which was open on Sunday to raise money towards church funds.

The event took place at the Manor House in Aslackby, hosted by Alan Baxter, who lives there.

About £1,000 was raised, which will go towards the upkeep of St James’s Church in the village.

Queen needs more money to maintain Royal homes – Telegraph

“However, these initiatives alone are unlikely to be successful in
averting the growth in backlog in future years and further funding will be
required in due course,” it concluded.

The claims were outlined in the Queen’s Official Expenditure accounts for the
year to April.

They show that the cost of supporting the monarchy fell by £1.8 million in the
last financial year to £32.1 million, equivalent to a saving of three pence
per person.
