LA mansion sales on the rebound – UPI.com

LOS ANGELES, July 9 (UPI) — Industry observers say a recent uptick in sales of high-priced Los Angeles mansions may be a signal that the overall real estate market is turning around.

The Los Angeles Times said Saturday at least six homes have sold this year at prices in excess of $20 million compared with only a few in the rest of Southern California.

BBC News – Denbigh’s Georgian Mostyn House is restored

The restoration of an historic town house has been revealed after 10 years of standing empty.

The frontage of the revived red brick building which dates to 1722 can now be seen by passers-by in Denbigh.

The town which has more than 200 historic properties is the subject of a major heritage project to renovate the buildings.

BBC News – Stolen porcelain back on display at Berkeley Castle

Two pieces of antique porcelain are to be put back on display at Berkeley Castle 12 years after being stolen.

The Chamberlain’s Worcester porcelain ice pail and vase were stolen in May 1999 and reported to The Art Loss Register.

A routine catalogue search in September identified the objects which had been put up for auction in East Sussex.
