Auction set for house with Lincoln tie – UPI.com

BBC News – Colchester Castle given £3.2m from Heritage Lottery Fund

A project to redevelop a museum at a historic castle in Essex has received £3.2m from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Colchester Castle has been given the money as part of a £4.2m plan to refurbish the Norman building and upgrade its displays.

The money will be used to help tell the history of the Roman town, improve the museum shop and insulate its roof.

Oystermouth Castle reopens to the public – Medievalists.net

The Welsh Castle of Oystermouth has officially re-opened earlier this month, after the first phase of an ambitious project to improve access to medieval fortress. On July 16th a 30ft (10m) high glass bridge was unveiled that will allow visitors into a part of the castle called Alina’s Chapel for the first time in hundreds of years. From the chapel there are spectacular views across Swansea Bay.

A 13th Century castle in Denbighshire is closing to the public for six months for a £600,000 revamp.

A new visitor centre is being built at Denbigh Castle and walks will be opened up around the town walls.

The castle, which overlooks the town, will shut on Sunday to allow workers access to the site.
