BBC News – Visitors flock to Wroxeter Roman-style villa

More than 33,500 visitors have been to the site of a newly-built Roman style villa since March.

English Heritage said it was delighted with the figures, especially when compared to the 9,067 visitors the Shropshire site had last year.

The site in Wroxeter, once the fourth largest Roman city in Britain, was the focus of a Channel 4 documentary, called Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day.

Hidden Gem: Ropes Mansion Garden – Salem, MA Patch


Behind the Ropes Mansion, at 318 Essex St., is one of the more beautiful and well maintained gardens in Salem.

The garden is open to the public free of charge.

Ropes Mansion dates back to the 1720s. Built by merchant Samuel Barnard, it was purchased by Judge Nathaniel Ropes II in 1768.

Historic Pinole: Fernandez Mansion Featured in New York Times – Pinole, CA Patch
