“Haunted” East Hampton mansion sells for $9.25 million

A supposedly haunted mansion in East Hampton has been sold for $9.25
million, according to Newsday.

The rumored ghostly inhabitants of the property may have caused its
price to drop from $19.5 million, the paper suggests.

The house is the former home of late Hamptons antiques dealer Barton

Ames Mansion celebrates 100th – Boston.com

The 20-room, 22,000-square-foot mansion was built 100 years ago for the politically and academically prominent Ames family. The Gilded Age home and its 1,700-acre estate were acquired by the state in 1969.
