A new conservation project was launched in Coleman Heritage Centre in Gurteen last week at which a new committee was elected under the chairmanship of Adrian Tansey.
Amongst the speakers were Siobhan Ryan, Heritage Officer with Sligo County Council and Wendy Lyons, President of Sligo Field Club. It is hoped the castle will be leased to the new group for ten years during which it is hoped repairs and conservation work will be carried out.
