TRENTON — As the directors of the Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie Mansion and the Trent House packed up their desks yesterday, the future operation of the two museums remained in doubt.

The two directors were among 150 city employees officially laid off yesterday as the city tries to cope with a budget deficit and dwindling aid from the state.
