Villa’s $53m record doesn’t add up

THE Sydney house price record claim of $53 million for Villa Veneto, the Point Piper harbourfront mansion sold last year, has been questioned by estate agents since records lodged with the Land and Property Management Authority reveal it was transferred for $44 million at settlement.

Wollaton Hall has been chosen as Bruce Wayne and butler Alfred Pennyworth’s new abode for the third Batman adventure.
The Elizabethan mansion, which is Grade One listed building, will be closed to the public from June 10 to July 6, so that it can be transformed into Wayne Manor for the shoot.

A manor house is being repaired for the first time in 500 years.
The stone front of medieval manor house Baddesley Clinton, in Warwickshire, is getting a facelift after centuries of battling all weathers.
Repairs will be made using authentic Arden Sandstone, extracted from a small quarry on the site.

Vandals have removed more than 30 coping stones from the perimeter wall of a Somerset castle.
The 14th Century Nunney Castle was targeted in the past two days, the parish council said.
It is not known what happened to the stones, but it is thought they might have been thrown into the moat.
