The Bethel Cemetery is the resting place of more than 1,600 Confederate soldiers, a 40-foot Confederate monument erected in 1892, and the caretaker’s cottage from 1886, but few Knoxville residents are aware of its existence.
With the help of the historical Mabry-Hazen House, 1711 Dandridge Avenue, and the Hazen Historical Museum Foundation, the caretaker’s cottage has been transformed into the new Bethel Cemetery Museum.
